Verify These Manifolds - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Did an internet search for replacement exhaust manifolds and found this place that appears to have them very cheap. Inner Auto Parts. They sell the driver side and pass side separately but I can get both brand new for less than $100.00. Wondering why they sell them at different prices though. Anyone speculate?

This link should go to the manifold section of the site and you'll have to scroll down just a bit. I think it's the 2nd and 3rd manifold listed. There is also another one listed just below that appears to be a straight dump manifold.

Would there be a reason to have one side angular and one side straight?

some years (67/68, i think) and all 4wd used the straight dump manifolds. i cant say about the quality of those; i would trust the Dorman ones further down on the page more, but they are twice the cost also.

Never seen a mix match installed manifold setup. Usually the straight dumps are 4 WD only for small blocks because of suspension clearance. And the two angled or swept back type are small block for the same reason. Also there has been some feed back reference to manifolds quality. As some reported manufactures were going overseas. My experance has found the R/H passenger side cracks between the last two ports on that side. Several manifolds are found on ebay not sure of the quality though. Might be better off to get a used set and have them media blasted rather than ordering from an unknown manufactured importer.

that manifold looks like a 396BB manifold, do you have a SBC or a BBC????

edit, I didn't look far enough down. the SBC ones are farther down

I had to buy one off of ebay for that reason. The passenger dumped strait down,The exhaust pipe had to make a 90* bend and kept causing exhaust leaks. I think i paid $50 for it and got my exhaust bent to fit and no more leak. I have about 100 miles so far and doing good.
