power steering pump
I was tightening the power steering belt today and could only go so far. The reason is the low pressure hose coming out the back of pump is bumping up against the bracket and will not go any further.
How can I fix this? Do I need to take the hose off and run it under the bracket and not on the top of the bracket? I do not have a picture. The metal line the hose connects to is welded on and does not move. I do not see any other way. Am I missing something?

Re: power steering pump
I would personally get a slightly smaller belt versus modifying anything on your pump. Good belts really don't cost much.

Re: power steering pump
Thanks I did not think of that.
Got a belt 1 1/2 shorter and I got it on and it is on tight and I did it in a few minutes (other than going to parts store to get one).

Re: power steering pump
I'm glad that worked out for you. I'm going through a power steering upgrade, so belt size is something I've dealt with a little.
