Question cruise control

When i bought my suburban the cruise control didn't work and now that i have driven back and forth from Lubbock to Dallas several times i would like to give my foot a rest. Any ideas on where to get started and try to crack this case?

Get yourself a service manual and see what is left of the system on your truck.
I don't know what you have now so I can't say.
Too often.....previous owners started taking things off like that when they failed for a petty reason.

Ditch the factory stuff older than '83. I recommend Rostra. Costs me about $250 to install on my truck. Worth every penny. If the truck starts to slow down from a hill or something, this unit will pull the throttle to the floor just to keep the speed up. I think it works better than the original. I've driven from Austin to other side of Lubbuck about 6 times since the first time without cruise control. 480 miles one way. Now it seems like a breeze with this cruise.

www.jegs.com or www.summitracing.com or www.jcwhitney.com also have an Audio Vox $99 cruise control too. I have this one installed on my other truck. Works pretty good except for hills on uneven roads. Either one is easy to install. I installed both of cruises on my truck. I just gave up on the Chevy cruise due to many problems.
