Question about trailer to haul truck
I am considering entering my truck in a show about 100 miles away from home but I wanted to tow it in my trailer. My trailer is 16ft flat 83" wide but the drawback is it has rails. I don't want to screw my truck up. Is this easily doable in my trailer? The measuring tape says it will work, I just want yall's opinions/experiences. I don't want to drive it as the truck has been sitting stored for 10 years, not sure it might have some bugs to work out and I don't want to have roadside trouble in the dead of winter. Thanks...

Re: Question about trailer to haul truck
I wouldnt do it. 83 inches is not even 7 feet. I hauled a 72 parts truck on a trailer just as you are describing and the rails rubbed against the doors and bed right at the body line. You have to remember that the body is a little bit wider than the wheels sit. Unless you have wider wheels that is.

Re: Question about trailer to haul truck
get a bigger trailer. I have a large 20ft flat bed I use to haul my cars around. I've had a F-350 crew cab long bed on it before with no problems.

Re: Question about trailer to haul truck
When I bought my truck I went to pick it up with my trailer, same as yours 16ft with side rails. truck walked side ways about an inch and dented the door. DON'T DO IT!

Re: Question about trailer to haul truck
Thanks. That's kinda what I was suspecting. Not worth the trouble. I'll just axe the plan altogether. I really didn't feel like detailing it in the cold weather as I don't have heat in my garage.
