Power steering pulley questions...

Does anyone know if the pulley on the BB remote reservoir p/s pump is the same as the small block p/s pulley? Or maybe a better question, does anyone have a pulley for a BB remote reservoir? I shipped one to Camtoys and it got damaged enroute and I would like to find a replacement for him.

Re: Power steering pulley questions...

Have him get the part number off of it. You may be able to still get one from GM. WES

Re: Power steering pulley questions...

Speaking of power steering...

I made the jump to big block. I already had the rebuilt internal reservoir pump for the small block. I assume this will work with the big block?

The big block came with a remote reservoir pump, bracket and pulley...it'd be nice if I could use the pulley and bracket with my regular pump, anybody know?

Sorry for the little threadjack there Hart_Rod, but it's related

The brackets from a remote reservoir big block pump will bolt right up to a regular pump. The bolt patterns are the same. I converted one from a '86 Burb.

Re: Power steering pulley questions...

I'm pretty sure the pulleys and pumps are the same. The only differences are the bracketry system used to mount and align them.

The 68-72 bbc truck ps pump pulley is P/N 3925537 and it can be found on some sb's and I have also came across a couple I-6's with ps using this pulley. Unlike the many diff. setups/offsets that the sb used, the bbc swp remote fill setup only used this 5537 pump pulley which was driven by the 5525 add on outer crank pulley.

The truck bbc remote res/fill is needed due to there being zero clearance between the ps pump and alternator when using the truck bbc swp brackets, all swp setups place the alt on the drivers side.

The bbc swp remote res./fill pumps & brackets are totaly different when compared the sb setup, the crank and wp pulleys are also bbc/sbc specific.

Re: Power steering pulley questions...

CB thanks for the info. Do you have one of the BB pulleys, if so how much?
