No knocking or anything the rockers oiled fine...
Engine was purty good other then the heads/head gasket... I really want some vortec heads though! gunna be fun

Bummer!!, as you said though, you already have another set of 305 heads and it will only cost you gaskets to make that swap. You can do the Vortecs whenever you get ready. You will have to use a different intake manifold with the vortec heads too and that's another item you can be rounding up in the meantime.
