I must be dumb, but here's a question

Do I have to remove the rear axles to do brakes on the 74 C20? I was told by some dude that I did to service the back brakes. I need to put in new brake cylenders and adjusters. Thanks!

Yes. Once you remove the 8 bolts on the flange,smack it with a hammer and the axle will pop out. Then you'll see the large retainers and nuts that have to come off to get to the brakes. Good Luck.

Not really just slide them in the wiggle a bit and the splines will slip into place.

Put a pan or small bucket under the end of the axle it will most likely drip a bit of gear oil out. It's pretty straight forward just bulkier/heavier than most drum brakes.
