Headlights!?!
OK so I got some H4 housings to replace my stock headlights (4 headlight model). And I'm not sure how they are supposed to light up, as in what combo they light up for highs/lows. My highbeam indicator is out so idk when it's really on highs LOL. The way it is, is when the top row is on bright, the bottom row is dim, and when the bottom row is bright the top row is dim. Is this the way it's supposed to be? I aimed the top ones for high beams and the bottoms for low beams. I guess it doesn't much matter since I'm going to rewire them when I get my HID's to where the top row is low beams and all 4 lights for high beams, but until then I would like them to be semi-right.
any help? |

Re: Headlights!?!
Top row is low beam, bottom is high beam. On low beam should just be top row lit on high beam all 4 light up...

Re: Headlights!?!
Alrighty, thanks. I guess I'll re aim them tomorrow night. I can't wait to get some HID's so I can hardwire them in and get rid of these 24 year old plastic harness plugs that are coming apart.

Re: Headlights!?!
yeah the top lamps are your low beams. but they have 2 filiments in them, one for low beam and one for high beam as where the bottom lamps have just a single filiment in them for the high beam circuit.

Re: Headlights!?!
well these arent the factory bulbs, theyre H4's in housings i put in there.
so both the top and bottom have 2 filaments in them. but it wont matter much longer, getting dual filament HID's for the top row and single's for the bottom and then I'll have plenty of light. |

Re: Headlights!?!
watch out on those factory plugs using the h4s they tend to heat up the plug and melt it specially if they are already jacked up ive always just switched them to these guys and they worked fine and never melted haha and on this site theyer 25cents a piece

Re: Headlights!?!
Yeah I figured I'd end up throwing some spades on there instead of the jacked up stock harness plugs. Even more so now since I know they'll try and melt on me.
I just can't wait to buy some HID's and get the ballasts hardwired in so I don't have to worry about a plug. |
