Re: 1980 chevy long bed!

Next I saw all of this at walmart for 80$ on so I jumped on it.
-Sony Xplod head unit
-2 Sony Xplod 6x9s
-2 Sony Xplod 6s



The person before did a bad chop job to fit the radio in and It wasnt to supported so I built this out of alumium to hold it.

I had that same problem in my '82, But the wiring was also FUBAR. I had owned the truck for about a week and when i got in it to go home from school the power wire had been run to the fuse box and wrapped around both prongs of the fuse.

The fuse blew and it melted that wire in a heartbeat, some other crap started melting too, and this thick smoke started pouring out from under the dash. i turned the truck off and my seatbelt wouldn't unlatch and it took me a few seconds to realize to pull some extra slack and roll out of the door onto my head lol.

after that day i named her "Christine". plus the wipers had a bad ground and would come on whenever they wanted so it really seemed the truck was possesed lol.
