I'm using my stock shortbed box.
Do you have any pics of your stretch ?

Question Re: Extended Cab AD

I was just wondering if you have made any more progress. It looks to me that you are getting closer. I would love to see how it is coming back together????????

Thanks Kabwe,
When that one comes out of upholstery he said he is going to sell it also.
Bill the painter is 77 yrs. old and he said this the last one he is going to build and will start selling off his fleet!

I'm working on the frame right now to get it up to a rolling chassis so I can bolt the cab that will provide the cowl and front half of the extended cab solid before I start cutting. This has been in the back of my head for years so a little bit more won't be an issue.
We intend to stretch the doors first and then do the cab to match the doors as far as door gaps go. My buddy wants to split the back of the cab and widen it to keep the angle o the door sills the same all the way back. The jury is still out on that.

Right now the blasted daily driver econo box is holding up progress due to a transaxle problem. 30 mpg comes at a cost.

I'm moving pretty slow on it. I banged my shoulder up last summer and haven't got anything done since the middle of July. I had hoped to have a rolling chassis and the cab stretched by this time.
I have several cabs so I will use the front half of one and the back half of the other which has a near perfect back panel in it. The firewall on the other cab is likewise close to perfect with only the original holes in it. I only have a one car garage and it is full of engines and equipment so at this time I can't get a frame or cab inside but I am working on clearing it out and making more room.

The plan is to stretch the cab 9-1/4 inches though the doors and run the standard short bed box on the long bed frame. I've got a GMC 1/2 ton frame and it tapers out like a short bed frame rather than running straight like the 3/4 ton frames.

obviously not drawn to scale nor am I that much of an artist.

I've been working on it for a while.
