Tires Sizes

Ok. soo im having a hard time trying to decide on what kind of tires i want for my 1972 2wd blazer. When i got it, it had 31x10.50s on it. but about 4 months ago we got a sweet deal on some 235/75r15s so we put them on it. Now im starting to wish i had a little bit wider tires without completly destroying my mpg. And i want something like a muscle car would have but still a little tall. no shorter then 28'' and nothing as taller than 30''. So ive narrowed it down to 3

1. 275/60r15 (bfgoodrich at radials)

2. 265/70r15 (grabber uhps)

3. 255/70r15 (bfg at radials)

any suggestions or edvice? pictures would be cool too.

I got 275/60/15's. Good size tire, nice and wide, almost 11".

I run 275/60/15s on all four corners of my C/10 now and couldn't be happier. They fill the wheel wells perfectly (in width) with a 10" rim that has a 4.5" backspacing. The truck needs to be lowered some, but I will do that at a later date.

yeah, i really like the look of the 275/60s. but i was wondering if they would kill my mpg bc this is my daily driver. ive got a 383 and get almost 13 right now. Would the 275s not make that big diffrence from my 235/75s as far as fuel economy?

I run the BF Goodriches that you listed on 10" AmRacing Outlaw IIs. I agree with 67ss&99ss, they fill the wheel well nicely in stock configuration, but a slight drop will even out the spacing. Either way, I think they look good. Cnut

Just an FYI - if you go to Cooper's website and dig around a little they have nice chart showing what tire sizes fit on what rim widths and also tire diameters.

I guess it doesnt really matter about the mpg but i was just curious how much it would affect me. what kind of mpg are you guys getting with 275/60s all around.

Mileage, are your joking, I have a slightly mod. 350/Th350 3.73's in the back, with the 275/60 on all fours, I get a Prius killing 10MPG, that's if I can keep my foot out of it. I, or shall I say we, don't drive these trucks because they are fuel economical, we drive them because we love them. I not trying to be an ass, I just saying, don't let it (MPG) be a deciding factor when your working on your truck, you may not like the out come if you do.

haha. i completly understand what your saying. i understand that im not gunna get like 20mpg w this truck. im probably gunna get these tires because they look so cool. i was just wondering how much it was going to kill my prius.. i mean mpg. haha. thanks.

235 70 15 on the front. 255 70 15 on the rear.
