What size welder ?
Im thinking about buying a MIG welder. I am on a tight budget and was looking at a Miller Pro 135. Is this good enough for small work on my truck and small hobby work like the go kart frame my son wants to build. Can you add a bottle to this. I have done a little bit of welding but I am willing to practice till the end of time to get to be reasonably competent.

For light work that's a great welder. As long as you aren't planning on shortening a frame or anything like that, that one should do you just fine. I used a hobart 135 to build the suspension on the Trooper(welding spring perches on the frame, axle gusseting, new crossmembers etc.)
I'm going to make another suggestion. Look at the Hobart Handler 135. Don't get me wrong, I really like Miller(I have a Miller 175), but the Hobart is a fine welder for less $$$$$. And yes, you can run either of these with gas.
