Flywheel teeth

I have a tooth broke off my SBC manual flywheel. will this make a difference when the starter engages ?

The way I see it, you have a couple choices. You can replace the flywheel, or fire up the mig & weld that tooth up, then chop it back in with a die grinder. I would not run it as is tho....crazyAL

If you don't fix it it will eventually knock off more teeth and damage the starter. You should be able to get the ring gear and replace just that part and not the whole flywheel. You would have to remove the flywheel to do it.
