1967-72 Suspension Swap

Benn looking for some help through all the threads and have really not found what I am looking for. Hope you can help. I currently have a 1972 LWB 4wd truck with a completly rusted out frame. I also have a 1969 LWB 2wd truck in good shape. I would like to know what it would take or if it is even possible to take my 4wd suspension and put in on the 2wd frame. I know some modification is in order to make it happen but will the dementions work? And is it even worth it? Keep in mind that currently the 1969 has coil rear springs and the 1972 is leaf springs.

There are guys who have done it. Your best bet would be to ask this in the 4x4 section...

Re: 1967-72 Suspension Swap

Here are the differances. The 4x4 has a different front crossmember, and it has spring hangers, but im sure you know that. Also the frame is almost strait from the cab mounts back. The 2wd frame has a full front crossmember (but it does unbolt) no holes for spring hangers and a dog leg bend in the frame over the rear axle. My personal opinion is you could use it but you would have to retain the coil spring rear. The front end could drilled out for the spring hangers and for the 4x4 motor mount. Sounds like a lot of work!
