92 ext cab (before the hacking begins)

A little advice please from those of you that have been here before! I have a 2wd 92 ext cab, running the 15" sport wheels with 255-60-15 on all four corners. I have purchased a DJM 4-6 drop(spindles, springs & flip kit/C-notch) and Calmax shocks. My questions are..Will I have do any fender, control arm, exhaust or brake line mods? Any advice you can share is appreciated, I'd like to think I can get this done in a weekend and be back on the road with as little down time as possible. Thanks again!

Re: 92 ext cab (before the hacking begins)

I will be a long weekend unless you have a big source of tools and a lift,... but it can be done.
Don't get in a hurry.

The exhaust might need a little reworking where the crossover pipe is. (the lowest point)
The fender trimming will depend on how wide your wheels are and what the backspace is.
In my opinion the Calmax shocks are junk.
I would swap them out with Belltech or Doetsche Tech shocks for a much better ride.

I would also remove the bed to make it easier.
Take your time and look at all the associated parts while you are there.
(like brakes, brakeline, u-joints, etc)
Good luck,... and take plenty of pics.

Yeah take your time on it, should be fairly easy to knock out in a weekend, the only thing i can see to slow you way down unless you have the stuff to do it fast would be the C-notches, other than that the kits arnt too bad to install.

I have a 5-7 drop on mine and i think i have the same size tires on it as you, id have to look but its at the shop.. the tires dont rub but think i did have to trim a bit on the rear wells just to make sure it didnt pop a tire..

Re: 92 ext cab (before the hacking begins)

Thanks! I don't have a lift but I have the tools, and a couple of buddies that can be bought 12oz at a time, so getting the bed off won't be a problem. Just trying to keep myself from any suprises. I want to get the wrenching done, get an alignment done and be back on the road. Thanks for the responses!
