Overloaded leafs? Suspension "drag"
[IMG][/IMG]
I had the bed of my pick up and that trailer loaded down with some semi-wet ash. It was very, very heavy. I emptied the trailer and the bed of the truck and went to park the trailer, I unhook it and go home to relax. I went to school this morning to hear my buddy "What's in your truck, its squatting." After that heavy load it's still squatting an inch or two, what is causing this and how can I go about repairing it? It doesn't "feel" right when I'm driving, the tires seem to have plenty of air and I could not see anything wrong with them. I'll give it a bath and take some pics tomorrow.

Sounds like a spring bent from an overload. Check the springs and make sure they arch smoothly. What do you mean by doesn't feel right? does it pull, or is it rougher, mushier than usual?

It rides a mushier I guess would be the word, I hit a bump and it feels like it actually has shocks.
A bent spring would be a simple replace job, wouldn't it?

Yes, if you bent the spting it would be just a matter of replacing it. Check to see that the frame isn't bent as well.

Re: Overloaded leafs? Suspension "drag"
Check the spring packs for broken leaves too. Either way you are replacing the spring packs. Make sure you do both. Its kinda like a headlight, If one goes the other isn't far behind only this affects your handling and is a safety issue.
