Hidden winches

I think I saw a thread on this but can't find it using the search.

I'm looking for photos of winches hidden behind the factory bumper on '72 Blazer.

I picked up a paintable bumper and it sure looks like there is room for a winch behind it and a fold down front license plate to hide it.

Anyone done that?

Re: Hidden winches

Mine on my 71 but it's the same bumper on a 72.

2 "L" brackets on the frame

And the winch mounted to a "C" channel, which mounts to the "L" brackets.

Re: Hidden winches

Different mounting set up than BobbyK's but I've done it too.

Re: Hidden winches

Sweet, I thought I saw photos of that before.
Thanks guys....now that I know it can be done....that is my new plan.
Factory painted bumper, winch behind it with a fold down license plate.

Re: Hidden winches

55watt "driving " lights.
Hella is the brand.
Got them at a local truck accessories store.
Prob. easy to find on E-Bay.

I had to fab up some mounting brackets but that was super simple.
