Re: Count Your Blessings
Eh, 2008+9 sucked for me. My ex-fiancee had me sell my '82 C10 in july 2008, we had our daughter in Nov of 2008, and then in may 2009 on my 18th b-day when my father stopped paying me child support, she and her parents kicked me out of their house and demanded child support. soon after i lost my job, she went to Miami for a week without telling me she was leaving our daughter with her parents.
let me put it this way, i've had 2 jobs since i was 16, i am now 18. I started my first job on my 16th b-day actually. and she's currently 20 years old and her 1 and only job lasted 2 months. And i'm the lazy one. At 1 point her parents wanted me to get 2 jobs instead of her getting 1...and that was b4 she even had the baby, and when she did, i took care of it, worked and finished high school. She sat on her butt and facebooked all day. I've counted my blessings, i've had 2. i sold one in 2008 and she has the other.

Re: Count Your Blessings
I thought I had it bad in 2009! My divorce finalized, then 3 months later left for Korea for the rest of the year.
While in Korea, I've seen the extremes of all weather. Monsoon season sucked, flooding everywhere. Summer? Oh don't even get me started with 100% humidity, carrying 50 plus pounds of weight up and down rocky "mountains". Then the wonderful below 0 temps for winter. Did I mention, the snow that piled up so high that even the Koreans were surprised? However, like you all have said, there is a bright side to everything. I got promoted, went to school and got to see a whole different country. I'm a firm believer that life is how you make it. I've had some of my happiest times when I was too broke to even buy some ramen! Well, thanks for letting me ramble. |

Re: Count Your Blessings
You know, sometimes you gotta look at your life like you do your trusty C/10
You could be due for an overhaul...your cab corners could be rusted, your fenders bent, your seat padding a little lumpy, maybe your windshield is cracked... sometimes you gotta step back, asess and come up with a game plan for a rebulild...while you can never get it back the way it was exactly - you could do a resto-mod and make it something new and way more cool than it used to be... Just a thought Fris Last edited by panhead671; 01-22-2010 at 05:20 PM. |

Like Wooderson said, "Just keep L-I-V-I-N".
Of course, he also was checking out the new crop of freshman chicks. "I keep getting older, and they stay the same age."
