Re: 1969 307 2 bbl Rochester
I've done a lot of them & never had a problem like that. Ijust did 3 for a 3 carb settup i'm building up but I havn't run it yet. I've got some of the original pumps if you want me to send you one. I wonder who's kit he is using. I did a carb for an auto display & they furnished the kit. It was junk. I always use Carquest. georgec2434@yahoo.com

Re: 1969 307 2 bbl Rochester
some of the older kits are aged beyond use and others cannot tollerate some of the chemicals in the latest batches of gas. Also some cannot tollerate the alcohol mixs.
I read somewhere but cant find the article that the color of the accelorator pump plunger determines if will tollerate alcohol. some are too old and some are junk |

Re: 1969 307 2 bbl Rochester
I did the 2bbl rochester on my 67 camaro 327 (SAME CARBURETOR ON THE 307) about a year ? well I guess 2 year's ago and heve never had a problem , those carb's are old school no need to send them anywhere just go to your local auto part's and get a kit $15 buck's then take it home take the carburetor apart clean everything good and put it back together !
I did the 1 bbl rochester for my 67 C10 on my computer desk last weekend and just got back from a 4 hour drive in it today run's like brand new ,,,accelerator pump had dissentigrated ! one tip is to measure your float two or three time's double checking the level and the drop , cause too much or to little fuel in the bowl will make the best rebuild job in the world not run right ,,,

THANKS for all the good feedback . WRENCHBENDER , I may take you up on your offer . I've rebuilt this carb before , after 220 ,000 miles I thought I'd let a pro do it . A few days ago he e-mailed that he was gonna try an Echlin kit . What happens when the pump comes apart the throttle jams and I'm cruising at 30 mph . THANKS AGAIN !
