Re: 3 on the tree Question???
I'm guessing the PO went with a floor shifter because the column is worn out. you may have your work cut out for you, ie. better off with a floor shifter.

Re: 3 on the tree Question???
I just put my 3sp back on the column after 14 years of running it on the floor.
Since I was the one that moved it to the floor I still had all the parts. I just had to find them in the garage. You'll need original 3sd trans arms, linkage rods, rod to column clamps, and a shift lever. Read the column adjustment FAQ and get new bushings for the trans and column arms. You'll be glad you did. There are a lot of 3 speeds on the floor out there so the parts are out there. You might want to check the parts board for the harder to find parts like trans arms and linkage rods. My now properly adjusted column shifts smooth and solid with no slop. I've tried to get it "stuck in between" and there is no way. I couldn't be happier Craig
