Lowering a 3/4 Suburban
I came across a good deal on a nice 1990 3/4 ton 2wd suburban. If I were to buy it I would have to lower it at least 4 to 6 inches.....Is there a difference in lowering a 3/4 ton compared to a 1/2 ton. What if anything needs to be done different? Thinking spindles/springs in the front flip kit in the back? Any advice?

Thanks, are 3/4 ton spindles readly availible. I dont recall seeing any ...not that I have been looking though. Also, is it still a 3" axle tube on the 3/4 tons?

I'm pretty sure summit racing has the spindles for the best price, I ordred one ton spindles from sporttruckdirect but others have had bad luck with there company. Not sure about the axle tube, I'll measure 3/4 ton when I get by the farm where I keep it this weekend.

The only 3/4-ton spindles cataloged anywhere I'm aware of are a 2-in-drop set from Western Chassis, which would be a good thing as they reputedly make good stuff and that's just about the maximum drop I wan from the spindles anyway.
But when you call them it's "oh, we haven't gotten around to making those yet, I don't know when we will." So if anyone out there wants them - CALL THEM UP AND TELL THEM and maybe they'll figure out there's a market. The 1-ton spindles are a 3in drop but there's hub/rotor clearance problems with moving the spindle shaft that far on the 3/4-ton design. Swapping to a half-ton front setup isn't an option for me, I need to keep the load capacity. As for the axle tube, if you've got a 14-bolt full-floater like mine it's 3.5in IIRC. Thank you both, looks like that website has what I would need. Sounds like the owner is changing his mind on this one but I think I am going to keep looking. I will keep you posted.
