56 pickup e brake

I'm trying to figure out how to run my e brake on my 56 pickup. I have a heidts cross member and hats so I had to remove the e brake lever from the frame. And I'm running a 98 comaro rear end and want to run the factory cables.Any ideas?

maybe you can run a pedal style e brake like a lokar or some of the later trucks run

Here is what I did for foot pedal on my 59. It is out of a 74 truck, I found that the bolt dimension was the same as the hood hinge bolts. 56 might be a little different but principal is the same. I don't know what the camaro has my rearend is 74 truck so everything in the back worked with stock 59 brackets. All I had to do was figure out where to relocate the pulley and connect the 74 front cable to the 59 back bracket.

I did something similar to OrrieG but, used custom brake cables.

I know you said you wanted to run a cable but....... I put an automatic it
a ton and half tk years back, and when you do that you lose everything in the way emergency brake stuff. My only solution that I knew of was to install
a "roll control" All you have to do is to plumb a push button valve in your
system where ever you want (mine was on the floor next to the driver seat
and less that two feet from the master cylinder). All you do is put pressure
on your brake peddle and push the button. and it holds that pressure until
you release the button. Members here can attest to the pros and cons or
the fallacy of this suggestion. If I remember right the roll control valve cost
between $35.00 and $50.00 back then.

a line lock? make sure to plumb it into the front brakes because..... well do i really need to explain????
