Anybody recarb their 235 (single carb) ? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I've seen some posts on the HAMB and also Stovebolts but wonder if anyone here has swapped out the original for something else.
Langdon has a heck of a deal going on a Weber type Carter carb with adaptor
for 100 $
Those Webers are on all sorts of 4 cylinders so I can't imagine it being over carbed. But running a 2bbl into a 1bbl log type manifold cant be the best approach.

Anybody done it or seen it ?

I have 3 of the Webers on my GMC. Its a 320 ci six and they are great. They are economical and great performers. Jay

This won't help much. But as soon as my split exhaust manifold gets here, I'll be running 2x1bbl. Rochesters (progressive) on an offy intake.

That is cool ! Something about 2 or 3 carbs on a L6 just looks right.
Unfortunatly just one for me right now. I just got a call back from Langdon and he said to use the Holley/Weber for my application.
So I ordered it up 75 $ plus adaptor and shipping.
I'll post on it as it happens.

The same ones that you are looking at. no pics on the 'puter. It is a 320 ci jimmy with a lumpy cam and a ported head. Jay

I was all exicted yesterday when I got home when I saw a package on the doorstep. But it was a replacement globe for the ceiling fan light that I still have to install.

New carb due in tomorrow. Can't wait !

I am excited to get it running well. Check out the 2 into 1 adaptor.
Which if anyone has seen a 235 intake they would understand it just dont matter

Don't use the pampers box gaskets. Look at what I have for your wall.

Hmmm. I'm intrigued... Wonder if the same setup would be an upgrade to replace the single Rochester on my GMC 270. What are your plans for the water choke? Do you block it or somehow plumb it in?

That looks like the one I had to adapt a Holley 2BBL to VW in the 70's. Is the carb progressive 2BBL or do both throttle open at once?

With the brake drum off the RR its possible enough brake fluid could escape from the exploding wheel cylinder and get under the tire allowing it to actually spin the tire

I spent some time looking at threads on the Stovebolt website before I purchased this set up. Most seem to like it.
I'll likely pull off the water choke and hook it back up to the cable.

Progressive yes ! 32/36 IIRC its about 200 cfm.

The real challenge will be getting the "drive" to get outside, yes its still outdoors, bolting it on will be easy enough, linkage may be a chore.
Langdon sells linkage kits also but the less I spend the less questions I'll have to answer from the boss. So fabbing up linkage and air cleaner will be fun and time consuming. Wish me luck and warm weather.
