Me and Betsy in Texas
Hi! Just recently stumbled onto this site and was quite shocked to find such a huge forum dedicated to classic trucks. I will likely be frequenting here a lot!
My name is Nick and I am 28 years old from Del Rio, TX. I drive a 1966 Chevy C10 Stepside named Betsy. Me and my dad recently rebuilt the top end of the motor, and as soon as I get a new daily driver we will be tearing her down and rebuilding from the ground up. I don't know too much about mechanics. My dad is an avid car enthusiast and tried passing it onto me, but I found myself leaning more towards computers. About 4-5 years ago my dad gave me Betsy (after many many years of asking for her) for a Christmas present (best Christmas present ever), and I've just recently gotten comfortable enough financially to slowly start rebuilding her and learning my way around engines. Very fun stuff, so far. After the last three weekends of working on the motor and reading various classic truck magazines over the years, I have convinced myself that after Betsy is done, I will be looking for another project classic truck. Something about classic trucks screams at me and draws me in, so I hope to share it all with this community while it slowly happens. That is my long winded introduction. Thanks for having me here! And without further ado, meet Betsy... |

Re: Me and Betsy in Texas
Welcome Laz... I hear ya on the computers. I have been involved with computers for 15 years. I have also loved the old trucks, but never had the time, knowledge or money. Now at 32, I have more money, finding the time and learning as I go.
I have only been on this site for a couple weeks, but have already learned so much. These guys here are awesome - plenty to learn. Geoff http://projectrusty.wordpress.com 1970 C10 Suburban |
