Can't work on my truck.... - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I've been recovering from surgery for the last week. I can't work on my truck for another two weeks, and I have all this to do:

1. Change heater fittings (driving me nuts just thinking about them).
2. Fix heater control to heater box (heat's stuck on right now).
3. Get new motor mounts.
4. Get my new ceramic coated headers (yee haw).
5. Get a new fuel pump.
6. Tune my new carburetor I managed to just get bolted on before this whole surgery thing started (this one's driving me crazy too).
7. Pull the old exhaust manifolds.
8. Pull starter and clean-up/maintain.
9. Replace motor mounts.
10. Replace fuel pump.
11. Put on new headers.
12. Drive to muffler shop to have pipes welded onto reducers to mufflers....

No fair.

Just a thought, while you are pulling the old starter off and changing headers, it would be the ideal time to go with a mini-starter so the new headers don't screw with the old one. Once you heal up of course, hehee! Take it easy and get well for now though.

I hear ya, I had gall bladder surgery when I was almost done with my last engine swap. 2 days later I put the starter back on........bad idea......i was sore for 2 days after that.

take it easy man .... your truck will still be there after you make a speedy recovery.... don't cause yourself more pain than needed... man im starting to sound like my mom .....

thought we covered thisin the gen discussion post???????hell after gallbladder surgery im not even allower to use my power sander to sand surface rust off the tailgate i have int he garage even if the kid puts it on horses for me

The mini starters can be had at any parts house or ebay or summit or jegs. I use this one in both my suburban and my lemans. This one here

Sorry rust, I guess I kinda double posted.

The mini starter is not a bad idea. I'm going to look into it.

As for whoever wanted to know what I finally went with I'm getting the Flowtech Ceramic coated headers:

31500FLT

$200 from Summit. No one has come close to that price yet.

I believe Summit has the mini starters. I was under my 95 K1500 a couple weeks a go to change oil...it seems to have a smaller starter on it from the factory. It might get transplanted into the 69, as I got headers for it from Summit too!!
