You can have ANY color mixed in single stage or buy clear in cans to go over top of it. It's the same exact paint you buy in quarts or pints or gallons just in a spray can. It's just as durable, just as shiney, you can sand and buff it, wax it anything.

The single stage will shine just as good as clear if you do it right, if not then sand and buff and it will. You don't need clear for it, but you can get clear mixed.

I'm going to do the same thing this spring summer to my 88 with spray cans because I need new cab corners and repaint the DS fender. Mines a red pearl bottom fading up to straight 88 gm black, with clear of course to lock it in.

We've painted many things, many times this way not having a booth or need a complete repaint. We painted an s-10 bedside about 4-5 coats with a can, the whole bedside top to bottom. That was more then enough and we could cut and buff it later. We done alot of the add on accessories too color matched to the trucks color.
