350 motor ID ?? ON A CHEVY SMALL BLOCK

WHERE EXACTLY DO I LOOK FOR THE NO.S THAT WILL TELL ME WHAT YEAR 350 CHEVY SMALLBLOCK I HAVE. AND WHERE ARE THE NO.S ON THE HEADS TO TELL ME WHAT TYPE OF HEADS I HAVE. ANY HELP ON THIS IS GREATLT Y APPRECIATED AND THANKS IN ADVANCE. DAN

Look for the #'s on the passenger side of the engine, just below the heads on the block. There will be a small "lip" there w/the numbers. You may have to scrape off the paint/gunk to see them. On the heads, just remove the valve covers, and you'll see the #'s.

You beat me to it! I knew I had that Nastyz28.com link somewhere.... Guess I need to clean up my "Favorites" folder!

Dandeluxe- No problem! I wish I had known about this board when I first bought my truck. It would have made finding my 350's #'s a lot easier! I had to learn the hard way!

Block ID

Block ID number on my 350 is on the driver side against the firewall. You'll need a mirror on a stick and a flashlight. Happy hunting.
