Check with mbgmike he's a vendor here on the site. He's around Houston area and I believe he handles brake line kits.

Thanks fishingjred

We sell Right Stuff brand products

http://www.getdiscbrakes.com/RightStuff/Default.aspx

a 67-70 6ft bed power brake kit runs $149.00
stainless
with regular Bundy tubing (OEM) its $110.00

SInce your a forum member we can probably knock of some off that to.
We offer a 100% money back with no restocking fee's. If you change your mind and want to go from stainless to Bundy we don't mind. We don't have all those crazy regulations most companies have. If you have the part a year and change your mind during a build and want to go a different route we still refund. As long as its not all boogered up.

Re: Brake Line Kits ?

I bought mine through brothers and just bought the OeM kit . I figure i'll put Dot 5 in when I' m done so the lines shouldn't rust out. Not going to drive mine in the winter I should add.

Re: Brake Line Kits ?

In Line Tube uses a CNC bender with models for every separate tube for every model year so...when I had my lines done rather than fit it by the try--it--and--buy--another method I called their tech line and they put together a set of lines to fit the odd mix of parts I have...you do, however, need to know the year of stuff you're hooking up.. like your front and rear brakes, master cyl, prop valve etc.

They can be a bit more pricey than others for their stainless though.

Re: Brake Line Kits ?

mbgmike,

I have a 68 GMC short fleet. I converted to power brakes and bought a CPP kit several years ago for drop spindles and power brakes, do you have a kit that will fit that setup (or will the typical power brake setup work)?

Thank you,

JE

Re: Brake Line Kits ?

lmc truck and inlinetube carry stainless lines so you don't have to worry about rust. i use the e-coated lines from VIP (cheaper 'cause they buy in bulk) when replacing a line. do NOT use dot 5 fluid in anything more modern than a model T (i wouldn't do it period). glycol based fluid is WAY more consistant than silicone fluid. just change the fluid ever few years and keep it topped off and the cover on as much as possible and you will be fine. i have been using valvoline dot4+ synthetic on several cars (most recently my 72 burb) with great results.

Re: Brake Line Kits ?

Inline tube worked for me. But a board vendor you can talk to on the phone should work.

Re: Brake Line Kits ?

How's this one...

'72 front disc and rear drum on a '68 with a late-model hydroboost & mc setup?

I think I'll be bending my own on that. Really, I don't see why people don't just buy SS tubing and roll their own. It's easily bendable by hand.

EDIT: With man-hands like mine...

Re: Brake Line Kits ?

Inline Tube for me too! Great product and the fit is almost spot on. They do put 'shipping bends' in the longer pieces, but follow the instructions for straightening them out and you should be fine.

Its nearly impossible with all the combinations of brake options to say a kit will fit perfect without some adjustment. If it did it "Great" Most kits are designed wether its S/Stl or Bundy to fit OEM setups and or they can trace your existing lines if you have them. This is true with all mfg's. We just did not start selling parts without buying the competitors parts. We tried their kits then decided on which brand to sell.
The reason the factory put loops in them is for fit up. The more custom it is and if you want the simplest most direct routing you will have to bend them as you want or prefer.
I know one of our old suppliers used to ship us the complete kits with everything bent on the frame but up to the prop valve/mc was straight pieces to accomodate any upgrades.
Every kit can have its problems from any mfg. Headers? What type? etc.

If basically a stock truck lowered or not the front and rear lines and the front to rear lines work fine. anything above that to the mc setup is a toss up, if a customer wants it to hook up without doing anything. We need a photo and or a detailed description of the setup. Like prop valve location(left, right, bottom.) what or whose bracket is used etc. Even dimensions help.

just for info. We offer polished Stainless lines (show Polish) that most companies do not offer (if needed)

Actually Brakequip makes a really easy brake line kit with connectors to bend your own.
No need for the Man Hands called EZ bend. I recommend it all the time to customers

Re: Brake Line Kits ?

I bought a fuel line from RightStuff. It ran from the carb to the fuel pump. It had perfect bends in it all the way down to about 4 inches from the fuel pump. Then it was bend about an inch off. I called the company, but they would not refund my money and pay the shipping back. So I cut the line, and put a fuel hose on it. I don't know if there brake lines are any better.
