burb trailer harness?
wanting input on adding a 4 way trailer harness to my truck (i will be adding a 4 to 7 with trailer brakes in the future). i could just splice wherever (behind the lights, underneath, etc). anyone looked into making a plug in adapter like they have for the pickups. i bought one of those and then found out it won't work (does it work on blazers?). any ideas on how to do a clean install that will be dependable. i may be wiring up the lights this weekend so i can use the burb to move a pickup a friend just bought. my dad has a tow dolly, but his '87 burb has a shot brake line....still.

Re: burb trailer harness?
hey all.....managed to get the brakes bled on my 72 burb 20/2wd (stainless braided hoses front and rear, valvoline synthetic dot4+ fluid) and i "partially" used a cheap flat 4 harness with the running light shoved into the back of the plug on the left rear light and the ground wire tucked under the grounding screw that is right there. i had the side panel out anyway (bought a tan one on ebay and painted it blue with paint from lmc). i snaked the harness down and out under the tailgate while i was using it. i will do something more permanent in the spring, but atleast i had a light on the dolly when not hauling anything (had a spare battery with me so i could run the parking lights on the s15).
it was dark and cold by the time i got going but the truck ran pretty good (still needs tweaking). it was interesting towing a big load with a small 307 v8 and a manual transmission, but i managed.... i think it was more a running issue (plan to replace the troublesome rochester 2 bbl with a q-jet and then will be going to a 406sbc) i also think the brakes need a little more bleeding or something because the rears locked up frequently even though i was taking it very easy. Re: burb trailer harness?
sorry...i think the blazer and pickup share the same harness and the suburban is by itself. the blazer does have the same taillight lenses as the pickup!

Re: burb trailer harness?
hey thanks...i looked up my 72 burb and got a hitch for a 73-91 burb which i know won't fit. i found the hitch i'm gonna run from jcw. i have a 3/4 ton truck and a 10,000lb rated hitch just ain't gonna cut it in my eyes. i want something that will take 6+ tons 'cause that's how heavy some of those big cargo and toy hauler trailers get.
