Later locking van columns fit?

Howdy,

I was just wondering if anyone knows if the later van columns that lock and have a key cylinder in the side are the same length as the earlier ones that everyone uses for swaps into 67-72 trucks. Are the key cylinder and addition of wiper controls the only difference? I am having trouble finding an earlier van column at a reasonable price and might just use a later one that locks and just use the column ignition switch instead of the one on the dash. Thanks!

Thumbs up Re: Later locking van columns fit?

I've heard, (no first hand experience)) that the columns with the key switch, won't fit? Something about the diameter? Ask Longhornman, I think he's got the facts/figures about this?
