No title makes it worth very little. If it his he should be able to get a duplicate title. Jay

x3. If he doesn't have it, or says that he can't get it, that throws up red lights. And the question...... WHY? If he can't produce even a duplicate title, turn and run.

Re: what do i need to do to get a title

yea, i have been there done that, some guy was selling me a 69 swb, NEW crate 454 and trans, interior was new, needed paint, but he wanted 1600!! seemed odd, he said it was his sons, but tht had no title, then when my dad went to go talk to him one day while i was at work (he thought it was too good to be true) he got him to admit, his son stole the truck 15 years back, then went to jail, he was trying to pull a fast one on me...

Re: what do i need to do to get a title

Lets say your driving down the highway and see an abandoned Square body....what happens to those trucks? Do they go to square body heaven? A local tow truck guy told me they get picked up and after 30days the tow lot can file for a lost title and in return receive a salvage title since it was abandoned by the original owner. I image that same thing could be done for your case.....

Re: what do i need to do to get a title

I would check craigslist or ebay honestly...you could find a 6.2l by itself pretty cheap...you wouldn't have the harness for it probably, but it's not hard to wire up...

I've talked to tow-truck drivers that say the same thing... if there is an abandoned vehicle on your property, you try to notify owner. If you don't get a response within 30 days, vehicle becomes your property. same thing at the tow yards.

I got burned once on a title discrepency. guy did a cab swap and put a diesel cab on a gas body. I paid him and went to register the truck as the diesel. DMV red flagged the truck and told me that the license plates didnt match the VIN. now I was stuck with a truck that had to be smogged. DMV guy told me the best thing to do was to walk out of the DMV office and he'd pretend like I was never there. I parted the truck out

3rd on this, if you watch the pawn stars there was a guy paid to take a 1965 Shelby Cobra . the owner never came and got the car after 30 days. so he got paid to take the car away and he got the car for FREE .BUT it was only a shell of the 1965 Shelby Cobra BUT IT WAS A REAL 1965 Shelby Cobra shell so he sold it to pawn stars $35000 -$50000. it comes on today on the history channel. pawn stars people get the 1965 Shelby Cobra fix up.

if you dont know what pawn stars is watch it. it is great

you can all so call your DMV to see if it is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: what do i need to do to get a title

I know a guy who lost the ownership for his s10 it was still in the po's name. In ontario you can go to the MTO with a signed letter from the PO stating that the ownership was lost and they do the transfer. He did not know how to get ahold of the PO so he forged the letter and it all went down without a hitch.

Re: what do i need to do to get a title

unless youre a legitimate mechanic who can produce a repair order or a land owner who can produce a parking lease then you can file for title under a lein for unpaid monies on the truck and get title that way

If i see a add that says no title or the like. I click the back button. Its a waste of your time because when all is said and done you could have found something better with a title. Just keep looking

I have an idea where a 6.2 is in Nebraska.

Are you looking for a 2wd or a 4wd?
