Unhappy Coil springs help!!

Hello, can anyone tell me what the difference is between drop coil springs? Here is my situation, i have a 66 Chevy c10 SWB but I replaced the front suspension from an 82 chevy c10 and was wondering should i buy the Coil springs for an 82 Chevy or for a 66 Chevy? not sure if it goes by the weight of the truck or by the diameter size of the coils springs. If someone could help me out here i would really appreciate it.

Thank you all in advance.

Re: Coil springs help!!

it should be around the same weight. just find (73-87)3/4 ton springs and cut them down till you like where it sits

Re: Coil springs help!!

if you have the 82 front end your going to need the 73-87 parts. the older springs are going to fit in the pocket correctly.

Re: Coil springs help!!

id use the 73 87 springs. theyll fit in the pockets correctly. I ve heard of people using the OE springs (your 66 springs) and them getting a popping noise from the springs moving in the pockets sometimes

Re: Coil springs help!!

Thank you all but i just found a forum here where some one used coil springs from a 70's model Chevelle and dropped the back about 3 or 4 inches, so i think that is what im going to go for.
