Correct orange color for 87' gauge needles

Have any of you guys found a orange paint that looked like the factory color on our trucks? I have an 87' and my gauge needles and transfer case indicator could use a repaint. I had a 71' Cheyenne that I repainted the needles on using an air brush and it looked perfect and just like original. On the 67'-72' board they had post with a Testors color that was a dead-on match. I'm looking for the same correct match for my 87' but haven't found a post related to it. The orange needle color is different on my 87' than 71' so just wondering if any of you had found that color yet. If you can't tell, I'm pretty picky about keeping it stock! Thanks!

The orange on my tach needle does not match the orange on my speedo needle.

I think if you can find something "close enough" that it will be close enough in this case.

The guy that restored mine used Testors. Sorry for the crappy pics. They do look much better in real life

Re: Correct orange color for 87' gauge needles

There is a hobby store in town that has hundreds of colors of the Testor model paints. I think I will bring in the extra speedometer I have to compare and find one that works. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the replies.

That was on it when I bought the truck. As far as I know it's original.

This is what I used for mine, bought it at Hobby Lobby. It is also a Testor's brand.

that looks correct...matches the ring in the gauges pretty well...looks like it does anyways for that angle...

Re: Correct orange color for 87' gauge needles

I used florescent orange on mine. Seems to be pretty close, but then again the original was faded. It looks better, that's all I care
