1972 Blazer Front bumper supports

Ok....I gotta think there are different sizes of support for the front bumper because the ones I have are just too long....or something.

It had a homemade bumper when I bought it so I didn't have the original supports.

I bought some from a guy out east here and they just don't fit!

The only place I can see for them to bolt to the frame is where the front springs bolt....there is a perfect hole right there but that makes them too long to fit the hole in the bumper.

So, I'm wondering.....maybe 2wd and 4wd are different sizes and possibly I have a set for a 2wd?

Anyone know for sure?

Something is going on....and it's driving me nuts ;-)

Yes the outer front bumper brackets for a 4x4 are different. I don't have a pic, but I think they are a little shorter, and I know that the left one has a notch to clear the spring perch. Maybe the right one too, but I'm not sure. My right one is missing.
