Bed Installation

I have another question concerning the beds.

What is the preferred way to install the bed?

I'm thinking I need to completely assemble the bed on the frame to ensure it can be squared up, holes aligned with the sills and all hoes drilled in the wood. Then disassemble the bed, prime and paint all the areas too hard to reach when the bed is assembled and installed, including the exterior of the front panel and the interior of the bed.

I would also make sure to paint the areas of the parts that overlap with each other, like the top corners of the front panel where it bolts to the sides, for instance.

Then, I would assemble the bed separate from the truck. The bolts could be just snugged then do the final alignment and tighten the bolts after it is placed on the frame.

Sound like a plan?

Re: Bed Installation

Just my thoughts, I think it's a lot easier to put on the frame assembled. The headboard can be a pain to get in place when it's on the truck.
