Fair selling price?
I just bought a '72 Cheyenne that I will be using as my daily driver and want to sell my '89 Silverado and wanted opinions on what would be a fair price.
I am original owner, it has 102K miles on it. The engine runs perfectly, BUT it will need to be rebuilt, I was told by local mechanic. The rear main seal is leaking BAD. The local mech. said it was because the PCV system ( passageways in the engine?), is clogged and it built up pressure ....there went the seal. I presume he knows what he's talking about? The interior is in good shape and the exterior is in fair shape. Has paint chips down to primer on the hood, and front cab pillars. Rust is small amount and only surface(couple of scratches and one area of hood). I hate to sell this truck coz it has and is a very strong running truck, but I wanted to go another way with the '72. I could post pics if it would help. Mike

Check out Kelley Blue Book at http://www.kbb.com/ that will give you a better idea based on all the options you have and such. I would guess that what ever value you come up with, subtract about the amount a new engine would cost if it really needs one, and you'll have your asking price.

Around here a truck like that would probably sell for about $4000 - 5000 if its 4WD with a 350. Less if its 2WD or a 6 cylinder.

Thanks for the opinions, It will help. I have a guy maybe interested in the truck, he likes to rebuild the engines, and turn around and sell 'em.
