Programmer
My grandpa has a 2000 chevy 1 ton with a 454 in it and he has me tryin to find a programmer to help with his mileage and wouldn't complain about some power but really wants some mileage. Anybody got a programmer they have I should look at or even heard of any company out there?

Re: Programmer
You probably will not see much milage gain from a programmer, or anything else for that matter.
Big block 1 ton = bad milage |

Re: Programmer
Tell him to drive down hill only! His mileage will increase substantially! After all, I'm sure he has told you about his walks to school that were up hill both ways. This would indicate to me that he is WAAAAYYYYY up at the top of a hill by now.

I have herd nothing but good about the Wait4Me Tune (http://www.wait4meperformance.com/). I have a friend that is running it and he loves it. Read up on the reviews about them.

Re: Programmer
You might try a super chip tuner. I put one on my friend's 99 old body style 350 truck and he got 3-4mpg better and 2-3 towing. Plus it woke the truck up a little bit as well. I know it was worth it to him.

Re: Programmer
I like a super chips tuner on a gas truck.
A custom tune might be better.
