There is absolutely no point in doing that. Even if you would go to the extreme to make a transfercase that has different out-put ratios for front and rear.....why? I'm not buying it.
You have to be miscounting the gears, it's not like that has never been done.
Either way, even with matching gears a NP203 is never going to like being locked-in on pavement.

Well I thank I can just about run what ever tire I wont, just pulled the cover off my 1/2 ton. It's 2:73 gears and I'm running 33's on it now. It never had a whole lot off the line but it did ok. I knew they were high but not that high. That would be why I could never find a road long enuff to see how fast it would go. Have had it up to around 110mph at around 3,000rpm. So if I was to put 44's on it with the 4:56 it would have more power than it has now and its no dog now! But 38's or 40"S would be the biggest I thank I would put on it.
