V8 into 53 exhaust question

I was determined to get the '62 283 I have into my '53 3100 using the stock steering box. 55-56 log style exhaust manifolds clear the steering box but an
"exhaustive" search of the internet shows no exhaust pipe solutions from the manifolds down. Any suggestions short of trailering it to an exhaust shop prior to firing the motor? I don't want to do a 20 minute cam break in just through the manifolds. FYI: Block hugger headers didn't fit even after offsetting the steering box.

Re: V8 into 53 exhaust question

I've never seen it but I've heard of guys flipping the passenger side manifold onto the driver side and running it out that way. Sounds very shade tree to me...

If you are just after a 20 minute cam break in, why not some cheap flex hose out the bottom? As long as you clear everything, you should be OK, I would think.
