Re: WalMart Batteries

My goal is to NOT have to disconnect and find a power source to keep my radio's saved information every two years or so. I put soemthing in, I want it to last until I am done with it. The last battery I had to change out, lasted 8 years without giving a bit of trouble.

Re: WalMart Batteries

Wal-Mart doesn't "make" anything, they only sell it. The only difference in their batteries and the auto parts stores batteries is Wal-Mart's name on the side rather than O'Reilly's, AutoZone, Car Quest, etc.

Re: WalMart Batteries

Wal-mart policy:

1. Check battery.

2. Good or Bad. Tell the customer there is nothing wrong with it.

3. If customer does not go away, offer to charge the battery.

4. Once battery is charged for 90 minutes. Give customer battery back.

5. When customer returns with dead battery. Replace with new one, minus however many months where used on orignal purchase.

Re: WalMart Batteries

I didn't read every post, scanned throught them. I didn't see Advance Auto parts brand mentioned yet. Auto Craft. I prefer them. I have had an Auto Craft titanium in my 71 K10 since 2003, same one. Never even charged it other than my alternator charging it. Very pleased with it. I bought 2 other ones for my other vehicles and have had good luck with them to. For around $80 you can get one. 5 year warranty also.

I have an Optima in another car also, haven't had it very long but I'm pleased so far. Way more money though.

Re: WalMart Batteries

Well, I have had just about every brand of battery in my trucks and cars. I have had AC Delco, Champion, Interstate, Napa, Exide, Deka, Optima, Dura Last, and Ever Start (Wal-Mart) I hate to admit it but the Wal-Mart Ever Start have outlasted them all!! The only real gripe I have about them is that they tend to leak and corrode more than the rest, but I have had several of them last 7-10 years before I have had to replace them, I went through 3 Optima batteries in less than a year before I got one that would stay charged, so I am not too impressed with Optima other than I haven't had to clean off corrosion!!

Re: WalMart Batteries

At least we all agree on the brand of trucks we like!

I think a lot of how long your battery lasts is how well its treated. Good charging system, good battery cables, etc.
