Hello from Australia

Hello all, my name is Miguel but all my friends call me Miggy or Mig I'm 21 in July I was born in Perth Australia and have been here all my life my parents came to Australia to live from Portugal roughly 24 years ago.

I have loved cars since I can ever remember, I used to have brand loyalty when i was younger (Ford or imports etc) but now I love everything weather it be a jap import or an American muscle car.

I picked up a 68 C20 the other day and I love it, it's a great drive and certainly gets plenty of looks.

It's running the original 350 with a mild cam, Holly manifold, 750vac/sec carby, headers, T400 box with a shiftkit and B&M shifter through a dayna diff. With disks brakes at the front.

I was thinking of getting a crate motor but I do really like that the original block is still in the car so I'm a bit undecided at the moment. Although more power is defiantly on the agenda

But first I want to improve the brakes some more with disks at the back and lower it with some new wheels.

I have already learn so much from reading a few threads so bear with me and get ready for many stupid questions hahaha.

and here is my *jap crap* as some people like to call it

It has roughly 500+hp at the engine and is a great cruiser.

Re: Hello from Australia

Very nice truck. I'm not sure what to say about the car with the curtains in the back and beers in the drink holders, although it looks like a very nice ride. It's not something you could get away with in the U.S. Welcome to the boards and congrats on your purchase - sounds like you have some great plans for your truck. There are other people from down under here as well - jump into the forums as you see fit!

Re: Hello from Australia

I like the truck. Too bad the steering wheel is on the wrong side... HAHA. Over here that looks like it would be a 69 cst. Disk brakes were standard in 1971 on the front, so i assume it was updated at some point. Any chance to get a picture of the option list inside the glove box door?
Welcome to the board, Eric

Re: Hello from Australia

Welcome, I spent 3 months in New Zealand and only saw one 67-72 truck! Although I did have similar curtains in my camper van and plenty of beer!Hopefully Australia provides a bit better representation of our beloved trucks. Glad to have you aboard. Dennis

Everything is backwards except for the ignition? That is a key chain I see right? Cool truck.

Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Well I don't have a key to the glove box hahaha so i will be getting a locksmith on it soon, so it is possibly a 69?

Yes, you are correct.

Thanks for the comments, I will start a build thread when I get the ball rolling on it
