ATTN: Northern/Central CA Members.....
NEEDED TO EDIT THIS POST:
I'm born/raised in California (currently in Northern California above the Napa County), so I'm no new commer to the Golden State, just the area mentioned below: May be getting ahead of myself,BUUUUuuuuut The wife and I may be moving to the Galt, Elk Grove, Ione area in Central California. I'm looking for recomendations on Mechanics in that area, that YOU would trust your Truck too! Looking for someone that can do the little things, (Like Gauge Bezel replacement) all the way up to puting in a new engine and Tranny. Also are there any good old fashioned "Speed Shops" in the area? Also I've never been to a "Good Guys" show at Pleasenton. Is that anywhere near the area of Galt/Elk Grove? Roger

Well, I know a top notch Horse Shoer in Galt lol, but don't know any of the local shops (South of there about 4.5 hours). Its nice up there if you get in the right area, Galt is a cool little town, stay away from Sacto though, its a s*%$ hole IMHO.
Welcome to Cali, I hope you don't like guns, personal liberty, diesel trucks or hunting cause this state is trying to take all of those things from us lol.

don't know any mechanics up that way but I'd want to be closer to galt Jackson than elk grove. grove is about 10-15 mins from sac an that's too close for me anyways. goodguys can be a fun event an would be 1-1.1/2 hrs depending on where u settle an how fast u drive ..lol.
p.s I still need to meet up an grab that seat from u maybe u can hold it for me until after u move since ull be way closer to me. let me know
