What Radiator Hoses For A Serpentine Conversion? Need To Get Them ASAP.

Hey guys,

I am in the middle of a serpentine conversion and all is going well except my lower radiator hose won't fit right with the passenger side bracket in place. The bracket pushes the hose down onto the frame rail kinking it.

I am pretty sure I am going to need a new upper hose as well due to the alternator location. I bought a straight thermostat housing instead of the angled one, haven't opened it cause I am not sure I will need it.

What year vehicle have you guys gotten radiator hoses for to make them work? Some people seem to have had no problem with this, but some say to get new hoses??

Thanks guys!

I just used the cool flex copper flex pipe on my friends 427 with the Gm serpentine system and it worked great! Not cheap but worked great!

Bump,

Anybody have any ideas on that year 350 truck to get a hose off of? I need the upper and lower. Just trying to save myself from having a new collection of useless hoses lol.

When I was searching for an alternator, checked out one for an '87 Chevy PU with a 350 that had the pulley for a serpentine setup. IIRC

Or,you could read all the suggestions and try those. It`s been well explained,I think, already.

Thanks for the help guys, I found upper and lower hoses that will work with some trial and error. Everything is almost finished, just need to refill the coolant and power steering tomorrow, check for leaks, re-torque all my bolts and I should be on the road, Woot woot!

Please post part numbers for those hoses and/or what they fit.
Some of these "modern" auto parts store jockeys are paralyzed unless you give them a vehicle spec.
