Exciter on alt, pre 85'
Can some one please look at their truck and look at the wiring to the alt. the exciter that is wired directly into the wiring cluster, brown wire, what side is it on?
as if you are looking at it facing the truck, looking at the alt, what tab is it on? left or right?, i believe it was right side? amongst the panic to pull the motor i forgot to look. THANKS!! |

Spinem: Looking at the alt from the front of the truck, the brown wire hooks to the right spade and the red wire to the left. The brown wire goes to the indicator lamp or the guage. The other side of the guage or indicator lamp goes to ign +. I hope this helps, jim If your missing the harnace end that attaches to the alt, chop one out at your local pick & pull yard.
