Diesel dash bezel and radio delete plate..what do they look like?

I figured that I would post some pix for those that have never seen one before. I know that we all read the forums and look at the words...but sometimes things still don't "click". LOL I know that I am that way at times.

Here are a few pix of my dash bezel from a diesel (with the wait to start and water in fuel indicator) and a few of the radio delete plate.

Hit up the pick and pull yesterday to get the delete plate...I knew they had one..plus got an "air conditioning" glove box, and the bulb socket for the "fiber optic line" to the ashtray.

Other than the glove box...those other parts are not listed in the LMC or classic trucks catalogs.

I forgot to bring some cash with me and the guy says..."pay me next time". Love it...I guess that I am there too often! LOL

Re: Diesel dash bezel and radio delete plate..what do they look like?

A few more shots....notice in the upper right corner there is a slight cut out. I thought that it was broken, but it is cut out for the screw head.

I scrubbed down the bezel and the plate...they look much better now.

A few more pix.

As for the WIF and WTS lights in the bezel...not sure that I will use them now. I will probably not runt he grid heaters on the cummins, and will remove the leaky water in fuel stuff from the fuel filter. Most say that by the time that light comes on, you are screwed anyway! Kinda like the dummy oil pressure light...when it comes on...it is already TOO LATE

Added a pic of the back side of the delete plate without the hold down bracket.

Re: Diesel dash bezel and radio delete plate..what do they look like?

thanks for the comments.

I thought I read on here one time that there were GAS engine trucks/burban/k5's that had that same type of "indicator" mount in the middle of the dash. I want to say someone said it was Brake and Fasten Belts possibly. Not sure.

edit- found the link for the other post here on this. More pix and description of what other gas engines had the lights.

I guess I could do a search...BUT the mount kit for the 6bt just came from the delivery lady! Thought it would come via the Brown Santa...but USPS chicky works well too!

I started to rip open the box...decided to take a few pix. 1) ripped up box 2) goodies! Now...to hide this stuff from the wife!

It is made by a vendor on the 4btswaps site. Not too sure of all the forum rules here...I know I could go and actually READ them...but I will refrain from posting since he is not a vendor over here.

That kit is a no lift kit for a 6bt into a 73-91 Chevy square body. Also shown there is the clutch master and slave upgrade for the big 13inch dodge clutch.

I do not have a welder...so it was easier to use this. One of the other kits out there requires a lift...to to make sure you have room with the d60. This kit does not require one. This is a tow rig...with slide in camper...so 33's are fine with me..no lift needed.

Re: Diesel dash bezel and radio delete plate..what do they look like?

I got the same kit sitting right next to me!!!! Save for the clutch stuff...

The bezel is also on some gas trucks. Dunno why some got it and some didn't. The one I had was on an 86 1 ton with a 350. Seen a couple of the radio delete panels, never thought to grab them, I want a radio!!!!

my radio took a dump...and instead of spending 200 or more on one..I am using my kids 30Gig Zune. All my stuff fits on there and it had an FM tuner as well. I just plugged it into the amp...cranked it up and sounds great.

I would rather save the 200 plus for a radio for my Con OFE!

My slave is leaking on the Chevy..was under there the other day looking at the 205 indicator switch wiring...and noticed it. so...good thing I am replacing anyway.

pic of my 85 Scottsdale 20 with radio delete. I'm sure someone also has a Cheyenne or Silverado with a factory radio delete also.

Basically it is a glass/plastic clear line the picks up light from the upper right dash bulb and sends it over to the ashtray area. Not much light but it is just enough to be able to see when the ashtrayis open. My 73 Nova had one as well.
