Front air line routing

Hey guy`s, I can not find any recent conclusions through my searches what is the best method to run the front air line when using stock cross member and bag plates.

I see some have drilled throug hthe back and some through the side. Also how to route line for both methods.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: Front air line routing

I drill down thru the frame and front crossmember and use a thru-frame fitting that is used for DOT hose. The type you find on OTR trucks. You push in the hose and it stays secure. I believe I found them at fastenal. I thought I had some pictures of the process but I don't and the truck is in florida right now and I'm in NC. The thru-frame fitting is simpler to a brake thru-frame fitting but for air lines. I wish I could help you more. Good Luck

Re: Front air line routing

You can drill a hole and install a rubber grommet around your DOT air line to protect it.
I routed my line on the inside of the frame along the passenger side.
One line to the right front bag, and one line across the inside of the crossmember to the left front bag.

Re: Front air line routing

The back side will work.
I drilled mine in the top of the crossmember underneath the motor mount stand.
I have 1/4" airline so it bends easily.
Plus I had my lower a-arms completely off, so it made it easy to drill the holes from the bottom up.
I just wanted my air line away from heat or anything that would snag them.

It mainly depends where your air management system is located. Mine was at the right rear corner of my blazer. Routing lines is just personal preference.
Just,... keep them away from heat and sharp edges. And secure them so the don't flop around.
