Angry sad... everything in but can't even start it....

Well, I got the 455 in.... everything hooked up.... found a drive shaft..... new shifter.... made new linkage for the carb..... made my 50 trips to the part stores.... everything is done except the exhaust..... so I can't run it.... I live in a residential area.... and open headers won't fly..... I have to get 90º off the collecter within the first 6".... so..... there it sat all day because I don't have a welder..... hopefully tomorow I'll get the parts together....
I did start it for about 3 seconds.... had to check it at least, and of course it sounded perfect... kinda like the bells at heaven's gate..... fired right up.... and smoothed right out.... but my fiance thought the windows in the house were going to rattle out .... (hehe), so that was the last time for that.....

That's the end of my story... so next time.... when you are having too much fun playing with the good stuff.... don't forget about the other crap so you don't get stuck sitting....

Take that baby for a spin, if the neighbors can't handle it, they need to re-evaluate life! Life is meant to be enjoyed!

yeah, listen to them. over the past week and a half, i've been replacing the exhaust on my gmc, but i was also playing with it to keep it going. it's loud, but sounds good. i haven't woken anybody yet, but i could definitely tell if someone was trying to steal it.

Screw-em. Call up your muffler shop, tell them you'll be right there, hop in the truck, and haul ass. If we end up seeing you on "The Most Dangerous Police Chases" we'll tape it for prosperity.

Oh, and another thing. I blew up my mufflers once when my points went bad. I was two hours from my house when it happened on a Sunday. I didn't know what to do but drive home. I got some looks (it was DAMN loud) but I didn't get stopped. I had to get the points fixed before I could even go to the muffler shop.

It's not that big of a deal as long as you don't make any long trips. I'd say 10-15 miles max.
