I bought mine with the intention of fixing it up into a niccceeee truck to drive every dan, and that has KINDA hapened so far. I now use it to drive every day. It is a pretty fun truck to drive with a fresh drivetrain (20k on a rebuilt 350 and 6k on a rebuilt tranny), and has more than enough power to embarass most rice burners and new trucks, even though it is pretty stock with simply a mild cam, headers, flowmasters, edelbrock intake, and edelbrock carb.
Lately i have been using it for hard work. The body is getting kinda rough, so i have been using it to haul scrap metal, firewood, and old shingles, all in the intrest of making money. I have loaded it until the rear tires squat, and the back bumper is 4" off the ground several times. It pulls the loads just fine, but the brakes and handling feel a little scary, lol. Next year i will be driving it back and forth from college. My motor will have a set of ported 186 camel hump heads on it in June, and hopeflly the truck will look a bit better by August. Then i will have a decent looking, rust free truck that will be pretty fast too.

I saw it a yard sale and I had to have it. Now it is just a big black hole that I throw my money and time into.

Nice thread!
I just got mine. Use it for a weekend driver. It's got a nice running 402 engine with 4 speed manual trans. Hope to paint it and make the interior decent, but nothing for shows. |

Here's a shot of my truck, I have wanted a 4x4 for a long time and finally got one. Pretty much your basic GM, it has a 350 and an SM465. I use it to drive to work and around town, haul wrecked motorcycles, ricer body kits, mulch, lumber, and pull stuck tractors out of the mud, and other stuff like that.

I use mine to embarass the people in rice burners with annoyingly loud pipes when I torch them in a 1/4 drag.

I've been wanting an old muscle car for years.... but I really need a truck, and if ya mix the two ya get something like a 70 c10 short/stepside.... When I first got it... It was okay.... but the more I drove it, the more I loved it..... what a cool ride! And that was when it blew a quart of oil in 50 miles! Just got done putting an olds 455/th400 in it... I will take my time and try to fix the body faster than it falls off, and taking lots of pictures on the way..... I think it will always be a daily driver... even if it ever gets to show condition.... not that I'm planning on taking it that far, but who knows.... lately I've spent more time with that truck than with my fam....
I see a lot of sweet ass trucks on this board..... I am jealous.... I wish I had the time and know how (and $$) to do the things that a lot of you have done..... maybe someday! ~Sean |

Mine is a daily driver and used for what ever I need to move.
