Is there anyway to hook a braided stainless steel line to the oil pressure gauge fitting? Once the line adapter is removed from the engine by the distributor, it is a typical 1/8" NPT female. Is there any way to do something similar at the gauge?

Are you using the stock gauge or an aftermarket one?

Stock gauge. It is the factory compression or nipple fitting.

This is what I used, but with an aftermarket gauge. Don't know if it will work

I had looked at that kit but could not see how the fittings would work with the stock fitting on the gauge. Can anyone verify if this kit would work with the stock fitting on the oil pressure gauge?

Autometer sells braided oil pressure line in different lengths. it will come with a 1/8 pipe to -4 line fitting and then it will come with some other fittings to cover the popular gauge fittings.

the guage does have a fitting i havent seen before. i think you could leave a few inches of your old line and use a compression connector

I might have to do that. I hope not though. I am going to be in Cleveland next week and will go down to Summit and take a look at the kits in person.

The trucks have a fitting in the block that goes from 1/8 NPT to the factory flare/compression fitting. You could probably make a 1-2" piece of the copper line with the factory fittings on both ends. One end would go into the gauge and the other into the factory fitting that went into the block. You would now have a 1/8NPT female in the block and a male on the old fitting you took out of the block. From there you should be able to find adapter fittings to those braided lines. I would think you should be able to find the braided line with 1/8NPT on the ends but I didn't see any on summit?

This line should then work?
