What all is included in the Painless kit? I am considering removing every wire in my truck and re-doing it all! Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

I believe everything is included except for the bulb sockets...I believe you have to re-use those. I have not completely opened the box for fear of not being able to get it all back in (want it to stay clean). My advice...don't throw anything away until you are finished!! I have my old and crusty harness in a box so when i am ready to install the painless kit I WILL have everything I need. The bulkhead bolts in exactly as the old one did, but you might have to reuse your old bolts or buy new ones (buy new ones anyways). Hope this helps some.

Jeff... we've chatted before about the painless system (you seem to be the "nominated authority" 'round here for it!!!) anyways, what do you think is the difference btwn the '73-'87 harness and the "universal" one... ???

The only difference I am aware of is the universal is just that...a universal fit. The 73-87 is a direct bolt in...simple as that. The universal fuse box would have to be mounted somewhere other than the stock location...unless you can fabricate some bracketry. Even if you got that to work, you would then need to make a block-off plate to put where your old harness bolted thru the firewall. Remember, our trucks have two bulkhead connections that connect to each other on the firewall...one on the inside, the other in the engine compartment. To me, spending the extra dough was worth it and MUCH more convenient.

Jeff is right. The universal one will have to be mounted somewhere else other than the factory location. The 73-87 one mounts in the same location. I pulled mine out of the box the other day and in a quick over look, it has everything you need, but you need the lamp connectors off the original harness.
